![]() This is one of my family’s favorite bike rides to take on a sunny Saturday afternoon often times stopping at a park along the way for a picnic in the shade. It provides Eagle River tenants and visitors with a scenic walking path or a safe, quiet place to bike or run. The park has easy access to the 47-mile Boise River Greenbelt, which is one of Boise’s most beloved amenities. The park plays a central role in the Eagle community, hosting events such as Flag of Honor and Baldapalooza, an annual concert that raises money to host children with cancer at Camp Rainbow Gold. The 9-acre Merrill Park is located in the heart of the Eagle River development. There’s a beautiful walking path along the Boise river that brings visitors close to nature at the heart of Eagle at this historical egg farm. There are trails and walking paths that allow visitors and residents to enjoy the beautiful Idaho outdoors. Parents and adults can enjoy the outdoors at Reid Merrill Park as well, with its great picnic area with tables and shaded pavilions. The park has a plethora of recreational facilities for kids and teens which includes a basketball court, a splash pond, a full-sized playground, volleyball courts, a kiddie soccer field, and even a large pond. This is an excellent place to visit and experience the urban beauty of Eagle, Idaho. When my kids were young we visited this park before going to the library to get all their wiggles out! This is a perfect little playground to stop at on a walk with the kids. The park has enough shade for warm summer days and enough little hills perfect for sledding on cold winter days. Couples and families could take short strolls along its hills. The small community park located on Stierman Way offers families the chance to have a quiet picnic with grills, picnic shelters, open-air tables, and a children’s playground. Grueber Community Park is a work in progress, the city intends to expand the park and add more recreational and children-oriented facilities in the coming years. Residents and visitors can even rent picnic shelters for private or public functions and events. Grueber Community Park is a great place where families can spend the day outdoors. The park offers visitors ample opportunities for outdoor fun including my children’s personal favorite, a shaved ice shack that’s open throughout the summer! Stephen C. Grueber has facilities for many sports including basketball, baseball, and volleyball courts. There is also a large picnic area, public restrooms, and hiking trails. With a large multipurpose shelter in the middle of the park, several large pavilions for resting, a full-sized splash pad, and water structures for kids, the park offers visitors ample opportunities for outdoor summer fun. The park features recreational areas for children of all ages. This fun-filled, kid-friendly park sits on 15 acres of land west of Eagle’s city center. If you’re new to skiing or snowboarding, don’t fret, the small slopes at Eagle Island are great for beginners. Residents and visitors can enjoy tubing, skiing, and snowboarding. There are also plenty of trees for hammocking or simply relaxing in the shade. There is also an enormous playset for the younger children to enjoy. They even have amenities for thrill-seekers including a zip-line and cargo net run by Zip Boise with tours starting as low as $29. ![]() My kids love to come and rent paddleboards to take out onto the water.įor land lovers, Eagle Island State Park has equestrian trails, hiking trails, and a huge picnic area where families could have a large family reunion or a small family barbecue. In summer, visitors and residents can enjoy water activities at Eagle Island with its riverside beach area, swimming area, and massive waterslide. In fact, the 550-acre park has recreational facilities that keep kids of all ages entertained. Eagle Island is a family-oriented destination where families enjoy beautiful Idaho outdoors all year round. Among all of Eagle’s parks, Eagle Island is a major destination for sports, recreation, activities, and events. The first stop is the beautiful Eagle Island State Park.
